Personal Banker In Training

I am happy to report that I completed my first week of training and… I like it!

It’s a huge learning curve. Absolutely everything is new. The newness is a bit overwhelming but I know with time I will become more confident and comfortable. There are so many procedures for giving out money, exchanging money and accepting it. Definitely going to take time to learned them all but I am okay with that. The people are wonderful. Very welcoming and friendly. Several have already friended me on facebook and exchanged numbers.

The bank is a lot busier than I was expecting. I thought there would be a lot of down time and space between customers but each day I have worked we have had lines almost out the door. I have never been happier to wear a big yellow badge that says “Personal Banker in Training” because it translate to “Don’t ask me anything. I have no idea”. So last week I shadowed my trainer at the branch I will be located at, This coming week, I will be going to their training facility and receiving classroom style lessons. It has been good to see things in action but I am definitely ready to get in the classroom where I can take notes and truly be walked through the processes of each transaction.

I know its still early but so far I am happy with my decision to take the risk and accept this position. I still do not know if this will be my forever career or even career for the next year or so but for right now, I am happy and excited to see where it will take me.
