We just celebrated our first year of marriage and what a year we had. In one short year we bought our first house together, made it into a home, bought a car, I left my corporate job for a family business, and most recently, he left his job and joined the military!
Since then we have sold our house and are currently prepping for our first PCS in October. Our first year of marriage was dull by no means but I have a feeling that our second year will hold even greater adventures.
2018 Update!
And the whirlwind continues! Who knew what amazing adventures and experiences 2017 would hold for us. He graduated AIT at the end of October and we PCS’ed to our first duty station in November. Despite all the horror stories we had heard, it actually went pretty smoothly. I can’t help but laugh when I think about this but we showed up to our new duty station without any clue where we were going to live. However, somehow by the end of that day, we had a roof over our heads and a place to call ours.
We were looking forward finally getting some time together after 7 months apart but the military had other plans. Despite having just arrived in November, he was deployed shortly after.
That brings us to today! I thought about going home but decided to stay at our new duty station. While he’s away, my goals are to survive, thrive, stay positive, start a career here, learn the city and make our home the coziest little home ever. Hopefully along the way I will make some incredible memories and even better friends.
